We provide a happy and warm environment with lots of cuddles and attention for all our children with lots of praise and encouragement. We provide a range of resources and activities which are age appropriate and suitably challenging. Each day the setting is set up with activities to meet all six areas of learning as outlined by the Early Years Foundation Stage. The rooms are divided into different areas, so that your child can adapt to the different activities they would like to do each day. We have; a literacy area for them to look at books or make up stories, a puzzle area, a construction area, a great role-play area; – including a puppet theatre, an exploration area; - to look at objects from the natural world, a small world section, a numeracy corner, and a creative corner. All our children go outside to play in the garden which has a soft surface, ideal for them at each stage of mobility. We have an excellent selection of toys to encourage the children to develop their motor skills, exercise and have fun. They have their own play house, sand/water tray and age appropriate toys to challenge them physically. In the children play room we are able to follow the routines that your child is used to at home, allowing them to sleep and have bottles when needed. We have an excellent growing area where the children can learn about caring for plants. Our children help with: preparing the soil, planting, watering, maintaining and when necessary, picking the fruit, vegetables or herbs – which we then use for meal times. All of this helps towards teaching the children about healthy eating and nutrition. We believe it is vital for children learn about healthy eating from a young age. We educate our children about leading healthy lifestyles and only provide our children with the highest quality food for their meals at setting; this way the children become accustomed to the taste of healthy meals and so, can go on to choose healthy options even after they leave nursery. |
